We are currently looking to recruit a Training and Competency Assessor (m/f) based in London, United Kingdom.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To assist the Training & Competency Manager in ensuring that staff working on our vehicles are trained and assessed as competent to carry out their tasks and responsibilities in line with current legislation and industry standards. To ensure that training and competency assessments are carried out with minimum disruption to production and that the relevant documentation is maintained and kept up to date. Maintaining individual portfolios of staff that are based at depots in line with the CMS and other business systems and requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Carry out competency assessments and deliver technical training requirements for production staff, certifying competence and ensuring records are maintained to an auditable standard that meets the requirements of current legislation and internal procedures, this includes entering and recording data onto the T&C training database. (60% of the time)
- Carry out Risk Assessments on appropriate work tasks at all depots as required. (5% of the time)
- Develop and deliver training courses, other than technical these being Depot protection, COSHH, manual handling, site induction and depot plant & equipment etc. (25% of the time)
- Carrying out in-process audits, product assurance and compliance checks at Fleet locations. (10% of the time).

Qualifications

Education

- Electrical & Mechanical – HNC or NVQ level 3, preferably in Rail Engineering

Relevant experience required

- Competent to prioritising their own work
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Engineering background and experience – with experience of Training & Assessing
- Knowledge and experience of using MS Office

Specialist or cross-functional knowledge

- Qualified Assessor (D32 / 33) or A1 or TAQA qualification
- Qualifications in training techniques and processes. (City & Guilds 7331 or equivalent) NVQ Level 3 in Learning & Development

Note: Both of the above can be delivered and achieved if the candidate has the required experience in Rail Engineering.
