APPLICATION ENGINEER (M/F/D)
for our location in Mannheim, Germany

Purpose of the role:

The Application Engineer is responsible for adapting the requirements from the internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the integration of new features into the Automatic Train Protection products, while considering the rail safety standards. They will assess, process and provide evidence for these requirements. Application Engineer also needs to develop project specific configurations for all ATP components taking into account specific vehicle details.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse, evaluate and validate country and project specific requirements, main focus being the customer requirements regarding the braking behaviour of the vehicle and odometry.
• Ensures successful implementation of the BT Requirements Management Process in the project environment while maintaining expected quality.
• Coordinate with software development and implementation teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements and safety standards.
• Provides advice and offers technical solutions related to software products and project development.
• Definition of technical interfaces towards internal and external entities.
• Write, review and verify technical documentation on all required levels.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Masters of Science or equivalent work experience
• Excellent knowledge and/ or experience working with requirements engineering, preferably in transportation industry.
• Relevant experience working with requirements, specifications and documentation of complex technical systems.
• Easy to understand SW and HW, and their interconnection.
• Knowledge of job-specific tools (Synergy, Doors, others may apply) is an advantage.
• German and English language skills required any additional language welcome
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
• Excellent problem solving and customer orientation skills.
• Willingness to travel (nationally and international).
