• The Design Quality Assurance Engineer supports the site engineering organization in fulfilling the quality requirements of the products being developed. By the daily work, this person is supporting the execution of the site engineering quality strategy.
• By applying and supporting the usage of defined quality methods and tools (such as FMEAs, Quality gates, Design Reviews, Problem Solving, Feedback, Process Audits etc.) within specific projects as well as in the site engineering, the Engineering Quality Professional supports site engineering to prevent, identify and correct quality issues of the developed engineering deliverables.
• By monitoring and providing feedback regarding process performance and fulfilment of quality requirements as well as improvement potential regarding the quality of created engineering deliverables, the Engineering Quality Professional supports the continuous improvement of engineering quality.


• Support the project engineering by scoping and proposing the usage of quality related methods and tools (such as FMEAs, Quality gates, Design Reviews, Problem Solving, Feedback, Process Audits etc.). Train and support the engineers and engineering teams of the site to use the agreed methods and tools and the associated templates.
• Support the identification and mitigation of engineering related quality risks by systematic conduct and/or check of conduct and completeness of associated S/D FMEAs and other risk related methods.
• Support the detection of quality issues by challenging and verifying the quality of critical deliverables by systematic check of conduct and completeness of associated Engineering Deliverable Checklists (EDCs). Challenge and support the regular update and optimization of EDCs.
• Support the proper usage of agreed quality methods, tools and processes by providing feedback to engineers and engineering teams regarding the proper understanding and application of engineering quality related methods, tools and processes defined within the Engineering Quality System.
• Monitor the project related quality performance indicators and report to the management. Systematically analyse the project related quality issues, perform PPS and support the improvement by actions follow-up. Assess the process adherence and performance and give recommendations for improvements by reviewing ongoing projects within the Engineering department. Support Continuous Improvement activities deployment in engineering (e.g. Lean Engineering).


• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering);
• Relevant experience in a Quality Engineering and Design Quality roles;
• Ideally, the candidate will have railway industry experience but alternatively experience in automotive, aerospace, defense or other similar engineering environments would be valuable;
• Ability to facilitate an FMEA (Systems, Design, Process);
• Ability to facilitate Problem-Solving Workshops (PPS, 8D);
• Ability to apply methods, defined within the Bombardier Engineering Quality System;
• Ability to assess processes;
• Knowledge on Standards (IRIS, ISO 9001, CENELEC etc.);
• Knowledge regarding requirements’ management and configuration management;
• Language skills: German and English at a native/business fluent level is mandatory.
