We are currently looking to recruit a Product Family Planning & Performance Manager for our main site in Mannheim, Germany


The Product Family Planning & Performance Manager supports the Product Family Core Team in all planning & performance related matters.

He/She establishes and updates the Product Roadmap, including leading the harmonisation and integration of related projects roadmap/plans and schedules from all parties (ROQ, RCS, engineering, other global functions) involved in the product development. He/She regularly tracks and reports progress against the baseline roadmap and continuously monitors risks and opportunities as well as proactively develops scenarios, mitigation or back-up plans required. He/She supports the Product Family Core Team representatives in communicating schedule objectives or issues to stakeholders.

He/She produces the Product Family Dashboard ensuring appropriate KPI ownership within the Product Family Core Team.

He/She leads the establishment of the Product (& related projects) standardised WBS, the identification of deliverables and the monitoring of related Workpackages. He/She ensures that the WBS complies to the relevant standards so as to allow consistent progress & cost control across the Product engine.

He/she establishes / consolidates the resource planning and capacity assessment of the product family Team / organisation.

Your Tasks

Functional duties to the Product Family Core Team

- Responsible for establishing and updating the Product Roadmap based on common objectives within the Product Family

- Responsible for monitoring and reporting on schedule progress and deviations within all parties involved in the Product Family

- Contribute to regular monitoring of critical path(s) to identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation or recovery plans

- Responsible of the assessment and validation of the projects related Schedules & sub-schedules

- Responsible of Product Family Capacity Planning

- Responsible for the Product Family WBS and reporting thereof (including inputs to cost controller)

Responsible for dashboard update and related data collection from the product Family Core Team

Leadership duties within the Project Core Team

- Lead meetings related to Product Roadmap topics and provide recommendations to Product Family Core Team.

- Lead meetings related to Product Family capacity planning and provide recommendations to Product Family Core Team

- Lead meetings related to Product Family WBS and validate the WBS and any change thereto

- Lead Product Family dashboard review and provide recommendations to Product Family Core Team

- Ensure regularly update of Risk & Opportunity derived from present or future deviations to the Product Roadmap

Ensure that schedule implications of changes dealt with the Product Family Configuration and Variability Manager are made visible and clear prior to decisions made on these changes

Specific responsibilities & Leadership duties to Global functions, PSD, ROQ & RCS

- Lead the multifunctional planning team involved in the product family and all related projects

- Validate the related project schedules and functional sub-schedules

Validate the related projects WBS

Other responsibilities / leadership duties

- The role is mandated to make any internal contacts, and also external contacts, needed to perform the duties

- Responsible for communicating the Product Roadmap, and changes thereto, to all relevant parties involved in the Product Family

- Support the Project Family Manager in bid assessment and Gate review monitoring.

- Support on a case by case basis any discussions / negotiations with suppliers and customers related to Planning aspects.


- Engineering or Business Degree is an asset

- Knowledge of / experience in product planning is an asset

- Strong experience in a similar role in an international environment

- Working experience either in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Procurement, Bids, Sales, or Finance

- Excellent knowledge of or certification in Project Management practices (PMBOK, Prince, etc.)

- Excellent knowledge and experience on complex projects planning & proven track record

- Excellent knowledge and experience in performance management (dashboard & KPIs)

- Excellent knowledge of resource / capacity planning

- Knowledge of relevant software (Primavera, MS Project)

- Good knowledge of project and cost control

- Good leadership skills
