We are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager (m/f/d) in Mannheim, Germany.

The position holder is responsible for the Management of TRAXX Locomotive Projects. You lead the project core team and ensures the delivery of the locomotives to our customers. You take care for assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets and scope of the required quality. Continually focusing on a pro-active management of risks and with business acumen on the opportunities. The Project Manager is responsible to apply the key Project Management Processes and the applicable tools for the implementation and is accountable for the strict and efficient application thereof.

Your tasks:

• The Project Manager has the authority and the obligation to review the effort of the Project Core Team members and to give directives related to the project execution, as such will be involved in the objective setting process for all Project Core Team members.
• It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to manage the interface to other Bombardier business divisions within an extended project team.
• You are responsible for the management of all communication with the Customer.
• You will lead the Project Core Team effort to meet periodic financial targets.
• The Project Manager is responsible for adapting her/his leadership and motivational skills to the project, the team or individual's capabilities and knowledge, the time and tools available and the results desired. You will develop “must do” strategies to increase team effectiveness and the belief that "none of us is as good as all of us.", in order to help the team to go through the distinct stages of ‘forming, storming, norming and performing’.

• The Project Manager is responsible for the detailed project schedule, project launch, project risk-, opportunity- and improvement-management, change management and contractual obligation management, budget allocation and monitoring, project reporting internally both status and financial performance.
• The Project Manager is the primary contact to the divisional Project Management Office.

• It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to adapt the allocation of work packages between the roles and the day-to-day delegation of special tasks to the Project Core Team members in order to optimize the total project.
• The Project Manager has a specific management responsibility and interface to internal project partners in other business/functional areas.
• The Project Manager shall actively align the execution tactics for his work with the other Project Managers in the same product platform in order to assure maximum synergy and minimum disruption.
• The Project Manager shall actively align Bid activities with Sales and Product & Platform Management.


• University Degree in Engineering

• Experience in Project Execution either in Function Engineering or Project Management

• Strong and experienced leadership skills

• Broad project management experience

• In-depth understanding of business financials

• Customer orientation

• Change management experience

• Solution and results focused

• Excellent communication skills

• Languages: German and English fluent
