In your role, you will:

- Report to the Director, Legal Services, Customer Experience and Export Control and work alongside the current Export Control Specialist as part of the Legal and Contracts Department of Bombardier.

- Manage Bombardier’s compliance with US, Canadian, and EU export control regulations, laws and sanctions for all Bombardier related activity worldwide, as well as compliance with the Controlled Goods Program in Canada.
- Management of aircraft parts services export control compliance for all of Bombardier.
- Oversee, provide guidance to and work with export control designated officials at various sites within the organization around the world.
- In conjunction with the current Export Control Specialist, identify requirements for and lead and/or guide the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure BBA export control compliance.
- Oversee and approve export control licensing submissions to US, Canadian and EU export control authorities for Bombardier. This includes the preparation, submission and administration of export licensing authorizations and other approvals.
- Assisting in the development and presentation of export related training for Bombardier.
- Be responsible for conducting regular internal audits to ensure continued compliance.
- Be responsible for regularly issuing communications on export control issues/updates and their effect on Bombardier.
- Be responsible for the application, implementation and recordkeeping of export licenses, technical assistance agreements, commodity jurisdictions, commodity classifications or similar authorizations, registrations with or certifications for relevant export control authorities.
- Review denied party screening.
- Stay current with changes to and application of relevant regulations.
- Determination of the export classification of hardware, software and technology under relevant export control regulations.
- Be required to travel occasionally.


As our ideal candidate,

- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, International Business, International Relations, Administration or similar fields.

- You have thorough knowledge of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), the Canadian Export and Imports Permits Act (EIPA), the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and EU export control regulations.

- Experience in dealing with government officials and industry associations an asset.

- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the areas of export controls, export licensing & export compliance and/or related experience.

- Experience in export/import transactions, export licensing, regulatory/ administrative law, project management/coordination, contracts administration preferred.

- Strong project management skills.

- You have excellent drafting and communication skills

- Experience in aerospace and/or defense industry preferred.

- Fully bilingual (French/English) both written and spoken.

- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and an ability to work with a variety of technology platforms
