In your role, you will:

- Design for experimental flight test vehicle systems, wind tunnel models as well as the installations to perform the various systems & structural tests required for new aircraft development or in-service issues.

- Perform mechanical design using CATIA V5, and oversee the production of detail drawings and installation drawings for work packages under your responsibility
- Interpret technical specifications necessary related to aerospace domain to develop solution to meet the design requirements that will be entrusted to you
- Perform preliminary structural analyses of your designs
- Be responsible for planning of both short- and medium-term design work packages
- Plan and adhere to project schedule deadlines while respecting allocated budgets
- Collaborate with experienced, dynamic and efficient multidisciplinary teams dedicated to projects in order to obtain results
- Work in collaboration with the experimental shop and support the manufacturing team as needed
- Be involved in the concrete accomplishment of your designs by supporting as designer the phases of manufacturing, assembly and installation of your achievements.
- Play a vital role at BAEX, to participate in and contribute to the success and achievement of a multitude of unique and challenging projects

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with eight (8) or more years of experience in a similar position

- You have excellent knowledge of CATIA V5 design and modeling software
- You have practical experience in equipment design in an aeronautical and industrial context
- You have experience in machined parts, sheet metal parts design and fabrication as well as basic knowledge of instrumentation are important assets
- You have a strong sense of responsibilities, good practical and technical judgment and a high level of flexibility
- You demonstrate dynamism, good listening and a strong interest in teamwork
- You have the ability to manage priorities in a context of parallel, multiple and complex deliveries
- You have the ability to work under pressure to meet design deadlines
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint and Excel
- You have great relational and editorial skills in English and French
- You must be eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Directive (CGD) Program
- Membre of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
