Purpose of the Role:

Design, analyse, develop, test and demonstrate engineering solutions that solve the requirements. Provide cost and schedule estimates on engineering programs. Provide technical expertise in support of other departments.

Responsible to support the integration of corresponding subsystems of a specific project into a system level. Special focus needs to be put to all related interfaces of the complete system. Part of the accountabilities of this role is the definition as also the realization of the corresponding tests (manual and/or with the use of automatic tools; integration as also regression tests).

Primary Responsibilities:

Definition, analysis, and alignment of integration environment

Reviewing of technical specifications to ensure integration requirements are captured, followed, and delivered on.

Plans his/her own work and participates in engineering design team.

Definition and creation of interface procedures, gathers and analyses technical data, solves interface problems, performs trade-off and coordination studies, creates novel alternatives, develops reliability, safety and maintainability approaches, and decides on optimum approach.

Design and Review of operational concepts, requirement specification. Migration strategy. Verification and Validation plans and records. Participate in design and operational hazard analysis.

Evaluation of test results. Provides technical expertise. Configuration/adaptation of test platform/tools.

Qualifications

Key Requirements

- Graduate in Engineering, preferred Electronics/Telecommunications/ Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the railway industry
- Good knowledge of databases, configuration & change control tools, DOORS.
- Experience with systems adaptation/integration, especially at interface level
- Able to take on responsibility and adapt to frequent changes
- Technical domain, System Integration, System Architectural experience and understanding is essential.
- Significant experience and hands on delivery of the design, analysis, development, testing and delivery of engineering solutions that solve complex requirements.
- Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.

Be able to demonstrate the ability to use this technical knowledge in the support of other departments (engineering, production, procurement, projects) and the development of less experienced engineering personnel.
