Description

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, you will procure utilizing professional purchasing practices and techniques to execute Purchase Orders (PO´s) and subcontracts for Bombardier Transportation (BT) projects throughout the Rail Control Solutions (RCS) Americas region. You will focus on electrical installation subcontracts of Wayside equipment as well as civil works with respect to Wayside equipment. You will focus on other service oriented subcontracts.

You will maintain contact with BT Project Management teams and Subcontractors to ensure subcontract requirements are executed in accordance with the subcontract, as well to lead and assist in the resolution of commercial and subcontract conflicts.

You will ensure successful execution of sourcing strategies, and manage procurement activities of the subcontract until all subcontract requirements are executed.

In your role you will:

Execute Purchase Orders to aftersales and repair suppliers upon Project Notice to Proceed (NTP);

Interface between BT Internal Stakeholders (Project Teams, Engineering) and subcontractor and supplier for commercial actions;

Develop subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure satisfactory execution of subcontract and Purchase Order requirements;

Maintain situational awareness of multiple Project Subcontracts and Purchase Orders execution statuses;

-
Negotiate and execute any required Change Orders to Subcontracts and Purchase Orders;

-
Focus on aftersales and repairs;

-
Manage all the small projects, budget control, actuals vs budget;

Maintain situational awareness of project situational awareness through communications with BT Project Teams and subcontractors and suppliers;

Lead all commercial actions required for the management of supplier performance;

-
Document all subcontractor and supplier performance results;

-
Track all subcontractor and supplier required certifications to perform work though out the life of the project;

Request assistance from BT legal and contracts when necessary;

Take active part in commercial and technical meetings;

Alert stakeholders on incomplete or missing technical specifications;

Participate and launch supplier evaluation process according to the company processes;

Support aftersales function, develop pricelist, catalogs and or price models to improve time for quotation;

Apply and adapt RFQ templates to ensure validity of quotes, and anticipation of obsolescence issues;

Support TCO (Total cost of ownership through inputs on the full lifecycle cost);

Document and define optimizations on the process, increasing contractual leverage, support repair agreements, to increase level of services;

Manage aftersales supplier base, re-negotiating, establishment of price list, defining alternative suppliers;

Communicate procurement strategies and activities to internal stakeholders;

Communicate at all levels within BT and supplier’s organizations.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

You hold a Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering, Business or Finance, Supply Chain or Management and Procurement;

You have minimum two (2) to five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing or Project Management with exposure to financial analysis and project scheduling;

You own the ability to work independently with little guidance and to meet performance objectives;

-
You have experience working on cross-functional teams with technical engineers;

-
You own experience in SAP (is considered as an asset);

-
You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
