Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is Bombardier Transportation’s signaling division. RCS is focused on optimizing the flow of trains and delivering innovative signaling systems which enable the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains.

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, you will represent RCS engineering on all technical matters and be responsible for the technical coordination of engineering activities on the LAX Automated People Mover project. You will be accountable for the technical support required for the successful completion of the project.

In your role you will:

- Partner with Program Managers/Directors and other matrix team members to support the development of the technical design, schedule, and progress;

- Coordinate customer design reviews and participate in internal design reviews;

- Coordinate the preparation of and/or response to customers related to technical matters;

- Update action items, communicate issues, monitor progress and report technical issues;

- Coordinate engineering responses to problems uncovered during factory and field testing;

- Coordinate design tasks of various cognizant engineers;

- Ensure that all project related technical issues are closed per agreed project action item list;

- Complete all other duties as related to assigned projects.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; a Master’s Degree will be considered an asset;

- You possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in project/program management;
- You have 7-12 years of project/program leadership experience within a technical/engineering environment e.g. power, water, industrial, civil, etc.;
- Experience within the rail industry will be considered a strong asset;
- A Professional Engineer (PE) certification will be considered an asset;
- Knowledge/experience with positive train control (PTC) or communication-based train control (CBTC) will be considered a strong asset;

- You demonstrate experience with implementing innovative work-around schemes to resolve engineering/production/testing bottlenecks;

- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;

- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.

- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;

- You demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Additional information: The person in this position must be able to travel domestically or internationally, approximately 20% as business needs require.
