As a Project Engineer, you will represent engineering on all technical matters during the bid phase of the project life cycle, participate in the technical coordination of engineering activities, and provide technical support required for successful completion of the project. You will ensure that engineering project estimates are accurate, schedules and man-hour projections are met and designs meet contract requirements. In addition to bids, you will be required to follow the technical execution on contracts once the project is signed as business needs dictate.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Represent engineering on all technical matters during the bid phase of the project life cycle;
• Prepare proposal documentation for assigned bids in accordance with Bid Management direction;
• Develop preliminary system configurations e.g. bill of material, work breakdown structure, system block diagrams, installation TRD, and system architecture drawings;
• Coordinate customer design reviews and participate in internal design reviews, document minutes and actions;
• Support development of the project design schedule and participate in monitoring and progress reporting;
• Support project matrix meetings with program manager and other matrix team members; communicate new / modified technical action items promptly;
• Update action items list on a regular basis, communicate problem areas to appropriate managers, monitor and report progress for timely resolution;
• Coordinate the preparation and/or write responses to customer technical correspondence through the Program Manager;
• Coordinate engineering response to problems uncovered during factory and field testing;
• Coordinate design tasks of various cognizant engineers if needed. Ensure that all project related technical issues are closed per agreed project action item list and schedule.


As our ideal candidate:
• You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
• You possess a minimum of three (3) years in a similar role;
• You have ability to coordinate technical activities, prioritize scheduled and unscheduled tasks.
• You are able to suggest and implement innovative work-around schemes to resolve engineering/production/testing bottlenecks.
• Your English communication skills are excellent. Your knowledge of Spanish will be considered as an asset.
• You have knowledge of Main Line and Mass Transit Signalling Solutions, knowledge of wayside systems including electrical installation, communications and power distribution subsystems is considered a plus ;
• Your fundamental understanding of the US Railway market and familiarity with CENELEC, FRA and AREMA Standards as well as have of the CBTC Technology will be considered a plus
