Purpose of the role:

In this role you will negotiate contracts and successfully onboard new supplier to the Bombardier Transportation supply base. Your responsibility starts with the Handover from Global Commodity Management Team during Bid Phase.

You will be responsible to manage and monitor the supplier contractual obligations with your dedicated suppliers starting at NTP until the Handover to the Commodity Buyer Execution (CBE) after the Parts Approval Process including the first delivery

You will review Purchase Approvals and manage the material budget for your own scope.

You will have to ensure the supplier delivered goods are at the required quality and On-time and secure the ramp-up Phase of the Project, before handing over the Responsibility to the Commodity Buyer Execution after the Procurement Action Plan.

Also, responsible with driving procurement activities through the use of professional sourcing and purchasing practices and techniques and ensure parts/services/goods availability while optimizing overall cost and inventory at the lowest level and highest quality.

Key responsibilities:

Manage purchase contracts for projects & operation within scope

• Prepare and issue request for quotation bid packages, identify suppliers, negotiate, place and manage purchase orders for low volume assigned commodities and services

• Satisfy Division internal and external customers and protect project interests through proper and timely handling and/or disposition of all relevant material requests

• Support order and claim management processes

• Provide report/statistics on commodities/vendors as required by management

• Fully utilize the current ERP-based production management computer system

• Assessing risk in the supply and align with Procurement Project Manager on acceptable level of risk of the project and take it into consideration for the commercial negotiation with the supplier

• Leverage Management and Bombardier Transportation Procurement capabilities when dealing with suppliers

Develop supplier ‘best in class’ performance

• Administrate purchase orders/subcontracts to maintain good supplier relations

• Develop supplier delivery programs

Manage material cost reduction activities

• Explore continuously material cost reduction opportunities

Develop and get exposure

• Develop professionalism by learning proper business practices, Procurement manual/computerized procedures and processes affecting the procurement functions, and developing working knowledge of commodities and products

• Learn basic tools of other functions

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Commercial degree with technical background

• At least 3-5 years of experience in a relevant role

• Practice in business processes, strong negotiation and communication skills (written and oral presentation skills)

• Basic knowledge on commodities, global partnership agreements and global lead buyer network

• Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Applications, E-mail application, SAP, eProcurement tools, Web-Browser

• Fluency in German and English.
