Join us as Human Resources Manager and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Toronto, Ontario. Working in our Services business you will be a key member of the HR team taking a leading role at our largest site within the Global Services portfolio. You will utilise your highly developed HR skills to provide a great HR service to over 1,000 employees supporting our people to perform at the highest levels and meet the needs of our customers who rely on our service every day.

As Human Resources Manager, you will work in partnership with the nominated Business heads as a member of the management team and as a trusted advisor to members of the team. With a high level of autonomy you will have a strong ability to understand the business challenges and be pragmatic where necessary to ensure we are providing a value add service at all times. You will take ownership of local Labor Relations ensuring a good industrial relations environment is maintained and that all employee relations matters are dealt with professionally and consistently. You will promote compliance with our policies, practices and relevant laws and support our talent management and engagement programs to achieve a high performance culture. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviews and coordinates the company employment, employee/labor relations, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices to comply with the applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws, including the maintenance of necessary files, etc. Directs the preparation for and represents the company in collective bargaining, contract negotiations, contract administration, grievances.

• Coordinates with the HR Advisor the communication and coordination of Performance Management Process to insure that employee performance is evaluated, that employees aware of their performance, development needs required to effectively support organizational objectives as well as succession planning evaluation and engagement activities are adequately supported.

• Act’s as a true business partner to the management team by developing a strong understanding of how the business operates, it’s key objectives and financial performance. Develop strategies to support the business meet its key objectives in line with internal approaches and governance. Facilitate the delivery of corporate communications where applicable in a way that is understood by the business and maintains consistency with the corporate message.

• Be a champion of the Lean Transformation program supporting with headcount forecast and budget reviews, monitoring headcount ramp up/down so that it is in line with budget/forecast and lead organizational change in support of our transformation program

• Oversee employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hires for company positions. Support all sites on special projects, step in for the HR Advisor while on vacation and assist the Director on special assignments such as mobilization projects or site openings.

• Take responsibility for the communication and implementation of Bombardier transportation policies and programs covering the manpower planning/recruitment, employee engagement and retention, pension and benefit administration, organizational development, succession planning, recruitment, compensation administration, performance management, and shared services.

Qualifications

Key requirements:

• Bachelor in Human Resources/ Labour Relations and SHRM certification

• Seven (7) and more years of experience in Human resources or Labour relations

• Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.
