In this role is you will lead a team of direct reports in the Bombardier Specialized Aircraft (BSA) Strategy team and Proposal Management team. Reporting to the Director, BSA Programs – and based out of Montreal, Quebec or Wichita, Kansas the candidate will have the following responsibilities (but not limited to):

Strategy & Growth

- Oversee the creation and yearly update of the 5-year strategic plan and growth strategy including the cross-functional coordination and detailed plan to meet the BSA growth revenue and EBIT targets.

- Implement effective governance to ensure delivery of the growth strategy.
- Lead the deployment of new elements of the growth strategy.
- Lead periodic updates of the market forecast by working with Sales and Market Analysis.
- Identify market trends and growth opportunities. Lead the development of the strategic and business plan around these opportunities.
- Ensure effective information sharing amongst stakeholders to support BSA growth strategy.
- Manage the collaboration with Marketing and Communications.
- Lead the collaboration with the Government Relations team.

Proposal Management

- Oversee all phases of BSA’s proposal management processes, starting with support to Sales Director campaign activities.

- Define a winning strategy in conjunction with Sales to deliver a quality proposal which meets the customers’ requirements.
- Ensure that the proposal team members use the best practices and adhere to all processes for proposal development and approvals.
- Implement an effective governance to ensure on time proposal delivery.
- Develop a set of balanced customer-focused and business-focused performance indices and lead the team in achieving these targets.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent field);

- You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in aerospace, ideally with prior customer facing experience;
- You have a strong technical knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems and relevant special mission equipment, and have a strong understanding of how these can meet customer requirements;
- You have demonstrable experience managing and winning proposals in excess of $100M;
- You are able to provide strategic direction on a variety of topics related to business development, capture and growth;
- You are a leader with initiative, able to mobilize and engage both your direct team and supporting teams;
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively negotiate in-line with business objectives;
- You are able to develop and guide individuals in the production of comprehensive and compelling materials directed at engineering, operations and executive audiences;
- You are able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively while working toward aggressive deadlines;
- Working knowledge of Bombardier's policies and processes is an asset;
- You have working knowledge of and are eligible to view and handle Canadian Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR), (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
- Ability to hold a US Secret clearance would be considered an asset;
- Prior experience in Government and/or military flight operations exposure would be considered an asset;
- You may be required to travel domestically and internationally and work extended hours when required;
