As Bombardier’s On-Site Project Manager, this position is stationed at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. In the event that the candidate is not based in the USA, considerations will be made for Global Mobility/Assignment. You will have access to and support from Collins’ representatives, as required, while respecting security and confidentiality policies.

In your role, you will:

- Work in partnership and collaboration with BA Platform Project Managers

- Work closely with BA Head of Design teams of all Platforms to ensure the engineering alignment with all parties

- Act as first point of contact for the Supplier and support Supplier relations and management in the Avionics Engineering area

- Be an advocate of encouraging continued engineering collaboration between Supplier and BA

Work closely, and at all levels, with Supplier team and serve as primary facilitator to expedite successful project completion, including planning, integration, problem resolution, risk mitigation and execution of Supplier work scope

Help ensure dependencies between parties are clearly defined and conflicts are identified and resolved in a timely fashion

Actively participate in various Supplier internal status reviews, Daily Meetings etc.

Actively participate in various Supplier/Bombardier Program IPDTs, PMRs etc.

Provide visibility of project status to all levels of Bombardier (and Supplier) Executive Leadership (not intended to be a duplication of any already-existing visibility decks/forums)

Ensure Bombardier Engineering Processes and Procedures (BES) will be followed by Supplier throughout Development and Certification


As our ideal candidate,

- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent. PMI certification is an asset

- You have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with multidisciplinary and technically complex integration in the Aerospace industry.

- You have advanced knowledge of project management and knowledge of the BESYou have knowledge of Avionics aircraft systems and operations

- You have knowledge of specific Supplier integration within Bombardier Aircraft development programs – preferred

- You have knowledge of Aircraft Certification Requirements (Part 25) – preferred

- You have strong Supplier inter-relationship skills

- You are a self-starter/self-motivated with strong organizational & time management skills to support multiple tasks with little direct oversight

- You have strong leadership qualities with an ability to mobilize and foster an environment of teamwork within cross-functional teams facilitating discussions and resolving issues to meet the objectives

- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus without formal authority You are skilled in conflict resolution

- Strong technical and project management acumen

- You have ability to generate and give presentations to various levels in the company

- You have advanced computer skills with a knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word Excel, Project) as well as databases and PLM and ERP systems applications

- You are willing to travel and work outside of normal business hours on occasion
