For our Product Line Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) located in Vienna we are looking to recruit a flexible and motivated
Proposal & Bid Manager (m/w).

The Proposal & Bid Manager is responsible to lead and motivate a large virtual bid team in delivering an integrated, high quality and cost effective solution that meets customers’ requirements whilst adhering to the guidelines of Bombardier Transportation. He/She mobilizes the bid team to find the optimal way to win the order whilst ensuring ability to execute. This implies optimizing competitiveness while mitigating risks. He/She supports the development of winning bid strategies, integrating customer and company perspectives and implementing them during bid and proposal generation and through negotiations.

Main tasks:
• Lead multi-functional bid teams through the bid process to produce required harmonized solution, proposal inputs and internal governance presenting to & receiving sign-off from senior management
• Ensure that adequate cross-function and cross-division interfaces are working
• Build and manage bid budgets and capture actuals, managing stakeholder interests
• Plan, develop, implement and manage all activities of proposal preparation and submission
• Support Sales in Pre-Bid phase (WB / Gate Reviews) and in developing target price and winning bid strategy
• Lead core team meetings, extended meetings and attendance at customer meetings as required
• Responsible for an adequate communication with all involved internal & external partners
• Identification of problems at early stage and escalation when required
• Challenging input of team members
• Checking plausibility of input


• Postgraduate technical or commercial education with the ability to understand technical contexts
• Project Management knowledge, understanding of bid cycle in public procurement tenders of advantage
• Multidisciplinary approach combined with the ability to think globally
• Distinctive analytic thinking
• Team worker with the capability to guide, influence and convince others using strong communication and diplomacy skills
• High level of engagement and initiative for development
• Result driven approach and a strong advocate of best practice
• Fluency in German and English (speaking & writing)

The minimum salary for this position is € 2.704,41 gross / month (14 x) for full-time employment
according to the collective bargaining agreement. Overpayment depends on relevant work
experience and qualifications.
