About the role

This position will be a Fire Safety & Eco design Engineer within the Specialist Engineering functional organization supporting the WMA projects with questions related to Fire Safety and Eco design.

YOUR TASKS

• Ensure that technical support is provided for projects regarding Fire Safety & Eco Design.

• Carry out and coordinate the Fire Safety & Eco Design work in WMA projects, with a functional and cross-site responsibility.

• Define the Fire Safety & Eco Design requirements based on contracts, norms and legislation.

• Interfaces with suppliers, change management, alignment with other teams (System / Electrical, Procurement, Project engineering).

• Get the knowledge of all the Fire safety & Eco design documents, elaborate and provide trainings for other services (engineering, project, procurement, etc.) regarding authorization legal framework.

• Breakdown the Fire Safety & Eco Design requirements to requirements on systems.

• Identify and interpret national and international environmental legislation, standards and norms.

• Develop and evaluate methods and tools for Fire Safety & Eco Design analysis.

• Perform environmental case studies (LCA studies, environmental analysis etc.).

• Calculate or co-ordinate fire load and assess design compliance regarding Fire safety.

• Prepare Eco Design & Fire safety documentation for customers e.g. Recycling Manuals, LCAs, EPDs, Bill of materials, Fire concept etc.

• Take part in external networks e.g. BT Centre of competence or standardization activities.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or PhD, with specialization in environment, materials, chemistry or energy.

• 4-5 years of experience.

• Industrial work with design and product development.

• Standards and norms within the Fire Safety and/or Eco design areas e.g. TSI, EN45545, national rules for authorization, Reach regulation.

• Technical understanding of complex systems and good knowledge of system architecture and integration.

• Material and their properties related to Fire Safety & recyclability in a life cycle perspective

• Technical expertise in vehicle level concept development

• Experience of developing and applying a range of system engineering process and tools.

• French and English fluent (other languages are an advantage).
