As part of the Global Commodity Management Team, the Global Commodity Manager will be the primary interface with the EWIS Product Development teams. He/she will support Procurement related activities until the end of the product development phase (GR7) making sure that the Product Development team is using the best of BT preferred sourcing solutions. He/she will also identify the platform/product family specific needs to be addressed such as localization, planning, co-development need and develop adequate solutions along with the Global Commodity Managers overseeing Components and Global Manufacturing partners.

Starting from existing frame agreements (GTCs, GPAs), the Global Commodity Manager will be in charge of the C-BOM evolution until the end of the platform/product family development phase. He/she will conduct platform specific negotiations and sourcing activities targeting the best TCO. He/she will also oversee suppliers’ integration and performance for the development teams, including negotiation of the main VOs until FAI.

The Global Commodity Manager will also be the primary interface during bid phase, taking into consideration all dynamics, levers and platform specifics to develop a 5 years costs roadmap being the base for bid inputs. He/she will also feed the bid coordination teams with costs observed for platform specific components or specific sourcing solutions.

For platforms developed out of India and Americas, the Global Commodity Manager will support localization and component indigenization activities.

He/she will hand-over responsibilities to the Regional Commodity Buying organization when the Product will successfully pass FAI for a first project (GR7), as well as being accountable of the supplier performance and overall relationship. He/she will re-engage in the case of significant QCT non-performance during project execution phase.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support Platform Development using Bombardier Transportation preferred sourcing solutions (building blocks, GPAs);

• Address Platform specific sourcing needs (MoB, Vertical integration, localization);

• Supplier integration and QCT performance during development phase;

• Control platform material costs (Platform TAC, MCR activities, negotiation of main VOs until product validation);

• Support Bid inputs.


• Master degree in Business Administration or Engineering;

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in strategic sourcing or procurement project management;

• Experience in supplier performance and improvement management;

• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;

• Good communication and problem-solving skills;

• Team leadership.
