Job summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to coordinate, develop, and advance the organization’s data and artificial intelligence literacy programs. 

The incumbent will play a central role in designing learning pathways, creating and coordinating content, leading awareness activities, and fostering a culture that promotes the effective, responsible, and secure use of data and AI. 

The role also includes responsibilities in information governance and change management to ensure that literacy initiatives align with the organization’s policies, processes, governance roles, and priorities.

What are your contributions to the team?

1. Data and AI Literacy — 65%

  • Design and coordinate progressive data and AI literacy programs and learning pathways tailored to different profiles, roles, and maturity levels.
  • Translate data, analytics, generative AI, and responsible AI concepts into accessible content relevant to the business context.
  • Develop, review, or coordinate training sessions, workshops, webinars, guides, videos, and microlearning content with internal experts and vendors.
  • Lead awareness activities and communities of practice while promoting transparency, human oversight, data quality, and risk management.
  • Measure participation, progress, satisfaction, knowledge acquisition, and adoption of expected practices.
  • Gather feedback and monitor emerging practices to continuously improve learning pathways and content.

2. Information Governance — 25%

  • Integrate information governance principles into literacy programs.
  • Collaborate with governance, privacy, and compliance leads to document and communicate policies, standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Develop training or certification pathways for data owners, data stewards and other governance roles.
  • Facilitate access to, centralization of, and maintenance of reference content and support data quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the information governance team’s projects.

3. Change Management — 10%

  • Plan and deliver engagement, communication, and support activities that encourage adoption of data- and AI-related practices.
  • Analyze stakeholder needs, organizational impacts, and resistance in order to tailor interventions.
  • Engage managers, experts, ambassadors, and communities of practice through targeted communications and support tools.
  • Turn feedback into tangible improvements and track actions, risks, dependencies, decisions, and outcomes.

How to thrive in this role?

Education

  • University degree in information science, information management, data management, artificial intelligence, analytics, educational technology, instructional design, linguistics, communications, change management, or a related discipline.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a strong asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience coordinating or managing initiatives in data literacy, AI literacy, technology training, data governance, information management, or organizational transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying learning or awareness programs.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, managing risks and deliverables, and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, reviewing, or coordinating learning content.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, webinars, or communities of practice.
  • Experience supporting the adoption of new technologies, practices, or ways of working.
  • Experience in a complex or regulated organizational environment is an asset.

Functional Competencies

  • Ability to communicate data, analytics, AI, and responsible AI principles in clear, accessible language.
  • Strong command of data and information governance concepts.
  • Facilitation of training sessions, workshops, and communities of practice.

Languages

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in at least one of Canada’s two official languages.
  • Professional ability to work in both French and English is strongly preferred given interactions with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to make complex topics accessible.

 

Knowledge and Tools Considered Assets

  • Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Project and backlog management tools such as ADO, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
  • Training and digital content development tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, or Camtasia.
  • Survey and learning assessment platforms.
  • Data governance or data cataloguing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of analytics.
  • Experience with AI, text analytics, or natural language processing platforms.
  • Knowledge of information quality, classification, and lifecycle principles.
