We are currently looking to recruit a Reliability / Performance Engineer (m/f) in Derby, UK – responsible for ensuring fleet reliability is managed in accordance with the contract and platform.

In order to deliver this requirement, the Reliability / Performance Engineer will be required as part of a team to identify emerging failure trends and as part of the FRACAS Core team will highlight these for escalation based on information / KPI’s derived from the tool, manage Fracas issues through to conclusion to mitigate performance / reliability L.D.’s. This position will also be required to support safe, cost effective, containments and countermeasures to identified product safety and reliability issues; managed by the utilisation of standard Project Management principles.
The Reliability / Performance Engineer will also be expected to manage / support the FRACAS, Information Form Feedback and Fleet check systems that support reliability and sales working closely with Product Introduction / Project Management / Engineering / Quality and RAMS on a daily basis ensuring all issues are understood and managed via a Platform approach thus ensuring cost effective containment and countermeasures.
Management of supplier reliability / performance to include data gathering from the MMS, monthly reporting and quarterly OEM negotiations on all Aventra projects in line with contractual requirements.
Review new contracts and understand / highlight potential risks within the Services scope, ensure Business systems are being deployed in line with project requirements / MPS.
Develop automated reporting via SAP BO as part of ongoing improvement processes.

YOUR TASKS

• Support the project reliability managers to implement containments and counter-measures on identified key reliability failure modes
• Within the defined group of systems, support all aspects of train safety from accurate reporting of safety issues to on time implementation of counter-measures.
• Support improvement projects to reduce service defect costs
• Support Completion Projects managing Performance Regimes
• Support new build projects and bids with past failure data

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to HND / Degree level in an engineering related subject.
• Relevant engineering experience in similar industries (i.e.: public transportation) with some management responsibilities
• Good organizational and project management skills.
• Strong engineering knowledge of traction and rolling stock systems, and traction and rolling stock maintenance policies and practices.
• Understanding of FRACAS process and tools
• Problem solving techniques
• The role drives for change, the prospective employee should be reasonably autonomous in leading cross functional projects and flexible to changing needs of the Bombardier
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in English
