What are your contributions to the team?

The Analyst, HZMT & Export Compliance is responsible for monitoring programs for the transportation/shipping of Export and Hazardous Materials, in order to prevent FAA imposed fines on the company and ensure full compliance with all export and hazardous materials activity. Additionally, he/she validates and ensures that MSDS sheets are available and up-to-date, accessible to all Bombardier Aerospace sites, and ensure full compliance with all DOT and IATA regulations.

  • Responsible for monitoring programs for the transportation of export and hazardous materials
  • Prevent regulatory agency imposed fines on the company and ensure full compliance with all export and hazardous activity
  • File Shipper’s Export declarations
  • Evaluate existing hazardous materials to ensure proper MSDS sheets are available
  • Coordinate and/or carry out the proper storage of hazardous materials as well as the collection, sorting, and disposal of hazardous waste
  • Monitor SAP generated reporting to ensure hazardous materials are properly coded
  • Update SAP Z-table with current hazardous materials related information
  • Provide DOT/IATA informational support for shipping activities
  • Accurately identify harmonized codes and classify parts for customs clearance

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred
  • You have 4 to 6 years of experience in shipping and receiving within an export control and/or hazardous materials environment
  • You have working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and other global trade laws
  • You have intermediate computer skills
  • You have experience with SAP, preferred
  • You have experience in a Warehousing environement, preferred
  • You have basic knowledge of MSDS sheets and sheet content, preferred
  • You have basic knowledge of hazardous materials and associated regulatory risks, preferred
