What are your contributions to the team?

You will be part of the Airworthiness team whose mandate is to perform oversight and coordination of Design Approvals, Continuing Airworthiness and the Airworthiness Control System for Bombardier Aeronautical Products. As part of the Engineering team, Airworthiness works collaboratively with Customer Support, Flight Test Center, Program Office and the Regulatory Authorities. The Airworthiness vision is to ensure Bombardier Aerospace Products comply with Regulatory Design and Operational Requirements in the most efficient manner, enabling Customers to safely operate and maintain their aircraft throughout the life cycle. This is a temporary position.

 

  • Represent the regulatory authority for the approval of new aircraft designs, product improvements and continued safety for the Bombardier products
  • Work with and support the Airworthiness team to provide key leadership for the continued safety, certification, and airworthiness  
  • Organize and lead the logistics of internal/external certification activity
  • Liaise with certifying government authorities and provide regulatory guidance to other Bombardier disciplines.
  • Be the main point of contact between the company and the regulatory authorities (mainly Transport Canada) for the assessment and disposition of issues impacting the safety of aircraft. 
  • Lead internal efforts to maintain an acceptable level of aircraft safety, provide visibility to Company management, and provide guidance on Company procedures related to Airworthiness processes.
  • Develop and execute with the team the overall improvement plan for processes and tools in conjunction with all your key stakeholders.
  • Participate in budget preparation.
  • Participate in management meetings and organize departmental governance.

How to thrive in this role?

 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and have 8 – 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry and preferably experience in Airworthiness.
  • You have Aircraft Airworthiness/Certification experience dealing with government authorities and certification regulations.
  • You possess developed competencies related to Project engineering and have a good understanding of aircraft functionality.
  • You possess great relational acumen and excellent social/interpersonal skills.
  • You are organized/self-motivated and bilingual (French, English) with strong verbal/written English skills. 
  • You have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access), Internet skills, Knowledge of Documentum, and eRoom.
  • You are a team player, working in a multidisciplinary team and can demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • All BA behavior related to execution and people management are assimilated and demonstrated all the time.
  • You demonstrate and adhere to Bombardier’s fundamental values.
  • You are driven by results and are creative in finding ways to resolve problems.
  • You are a multidisciplinary team player, and best solution at aircraft level is your credo.
