What are your contributions to the team?
In your role, you will:
- Work with a Senior/Specialist Interior Designer to create and coordinate Defense Interior presentation and specification packages from concept through execution.
- Prepare, release, revise, and maintain Defense Interior design documentation, including specifications, material definition documents, sample records, supplier documentation, and project deliverables.
- Manage a high volume of complex project assignments.
- Research and gather project information, including aircraft history, customer requirements, prior selections, and interior/exterior definition.
- Coordinate material selections, sample availability, procurement needs, technical suitability, and flammability/performance requirements.
- Build and maintain the Defense sample library, including approved materials, finishes, softgoods, veneers, carpets, and related product references.
- Investigate new Defense products and materials, coordinate supplier samples, obtain technical data and lead-time information, and validate suitability for defense cabin applications.
- Support customer customization requests by assessing options, budget impact, feasibility, and applicable requirements.
- Assist in developing and presenting aesthetic, ergonomic, functional, and compliance-related recommendations.
- Support technical briefings, inspections, production, development, improvement, and delivery activities.
This role reports day-to-day activities to the Manager, Customer Facing Team – Product Evolution, Strategic Projects and Aircraft Delivery Performance, and collaborates with Design, Sales, Digital Media, Engineering, Methods, Logistics, and Delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
How to thrive in this role?
As our ideal candidate,
- You have a Collegial Diploma (DEC) or University degree (BID or BFA) in interior or industrial design or equivalent.
- You have a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in a relevant field
- You have strong computer skills in a Microsoft environment with a working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD V14.
- You are fluent in English (written and spoken), French and any other languages would be an asset. Initiative, strong communication and organization skills are essential.
- Experience working with technical specifications, material documentation, supplier data, or regulated product requirements would be an asset.
- You are a team player, you easily adapt to change, and customer satisfaction is your number one priority
- Occasional travel may be required.
