What are your contributions to the team?
As part of the Data & Analytics team and reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with the business and technology teams. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our data governance framework and ensuring the effective management and protection of our enterprise data assets. This position requires a basic understanding of data governance principles, regulatory compliance, data quality, and data management tools.
In your role, you will:
• Assist in maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Help document data definitions, data flows, and business rules.
• Support data quality checks and contribute to improving data accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with data owners and stewards to ensure compliance with governance guidelines.
• Participate in meetings and prepare summaries or follow-up actions.
• Assist in managing the data catalog and metadata documentation.
• Help monitor compliance with data privacy and security requirements.
• Stay informed about basic data governance concepts and emerging trends.
How to thrive in this role?
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent technical background.
• You have an interest in data governance, data quality, and data management practices.
• You have a basic understanding of data concepts (e.g., data types, metadata, data privacy).
• You have familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools like Excel, Power BI or similar.
• You have strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies.
• You have previous experience using data catalog tools; Microsoft Purview is an asset.
• You have the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• You have good communication and collaboration skills; as well as strong ability to create impactful presentations using PowerPoint.
• You must be capable to communicate in both French and English (spoken, written) in a business context.
