What are your contributions to the team?

•    Act as the functional director for design disciplines, with focus on managing and developing resources across the organization in coordination with Sustaining, Product Development, Defense, Aftermarket and other areas.
•    Lead the design team to provide effective resolution to solve complex technical problems.
•    Act as the recognized organizational authority on Structure Design by enforcing roles and responsibilities and Methodologies.
•    Coach, mentor, and put in place a structured approach to develop the team’s expertise within this function.
•    Responsible to standardize tools and processes and implement strategic low-cost initiatives.
•    Work closely with the Stress Functional Director to support overall engineering commitments.
•    Participate in Product Development reviews to contribute from a peer level.
•    Effectively communicate program/project progress and updates at Executive and Customer levels.
•    Travel to different company sites to enforce responsibilities.
•    Monitor and control budget and related workforce needs.

How to thrive in this role?

•    You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (a Ph.D. in a relevant field is considered an asset).
•    You have more than 15 years of relevant experience in structural design and stress engineering within the aerospace industry. 
•    You are well-versed in Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulations.
•    You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in team management.
•    You will manage one or more projects with high-priority objectives requiring integration and coordination across multiple departments and functions. 
•    You have experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers. 
•    You will communicate with various executive levels, clients, and stakeholders. 
•    Great asset: you are bilingual in French and English. English is mandatory.
