What are your contributions to the team?
- Report to the Senior Director, Avionics and Electrical Engineering Integration from a day-to-day basis and to the VP of Advanced Engineering as a member of the Office of the Fellows.
- Work with Engineering functional leadership and Heads of Design.
- Act as an engineering representative with key Business and Supplier Leadership Teams
- Provide technical leadership and non-advocate reviews to support primary company goals including new program development, production ramp-up, cost improvement initiatives and in-service fleet performance improvements
- Act as the Applicant final technical authority where required to align the technical community
- Influence design solutions for complex multi-disciplinary problems
- Integrate across multiple engineering disciplines to resolve critical technical issues.
- Define Knowledge Domain strategy and objectives in alignment with business objectives
- Support talent development
- Contribute, stimulate and influence innovation
- Influence industry standards to protect company interests
- Define or validate R&T strategy and initiatives for technical maturity
- Act as a role model for the members of your area of expertise
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a University Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or aerospace engineering.
- You possess a minimum of 20 years’ experience in aircraft systems design and integration, including demonstrated experience across multiple disciplines, in addition to Electrical, EWIS and EMC.
- You have experience with overall electrical product definition on at least 2 recent development programs.
- You have experience in addressing airworthiness issues on sustaining programs.
- You have experience with supplier management.
- You have advanced technical knowledge in Electrical, EWIS and EMC.
- You have experience of communicating with executive level and external stakeholders.
- You have strong communication skills and are fluent in French and English, spoken and written.
- Having experience with Transport Canada or as a Transport Canada DAD is an asset.
- You have decision-making capability.
- You have recognized abilities to integrate across multiple engineering disciplines to resolve problems
- You have recognized leadership and coaching competencies, to influence and mobilize people
- You have demonstrated abilities to influence towards goal achievement
- You have recognized behaviors of integrity, respect and accountability
