What are your contributions to the team?

 
As a Financial Analyst, Engineering, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and performance management of Bombardier's Engineering and Product Development organization. In your role, you will be key in delivering financial data that support strategic decision-making, budget governance, and operational excellence across multiple engineering programs and initiatives.
 
Working within the Governance, Strategy & Budget Management team, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting activities while helping enhance financial tools and dashboards that drive visibility and performance.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Manage the annual budget planning process and quarterly forecast cycles for Engineering and Product Development.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and submit budget inputs across multiple funding envelopes, including New Product Development and Research & Technology initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on headcount, operating expenses (ODC), and overhead spending through regular budget tracking and performance reviews.
  • Identify and communicate financial risks, opportunities, trends, and variances to support informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial performance reports and governance updates to engineering leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with Finance partners to reconcile financial data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reporting tools that enhance budget visibility and operational insights.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by streamlining financial processes, reporting methodologies, and analytical tools.

How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, project controls, or business analysis.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to understand the broader business context.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills in English and French, both oral and written.
