As a member of the FBW & Secondary Flight Control system team, the candidate will participate in the technical definition and integration of actuation devices. As such the candidate will be involved and/or responsible of several activities. At the beginning, these activities would mainly support sustaining programs (Challenger, Global Express, Global 8000). With more experience, the candidate will participate on developing programs while preparing for the challenges and demands of future platform such as Ecojet.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Take part in the integration of the Flight-By-Wire or secondary flight control system for the definition, specification, design, analysis, modification, test and certification of this system
  • Coordinate product development activities between the supplier of the system and the other affected work packages (Avionic, Structure, Claws & Flight Science,…)
  • Ensure successful design, validation, certification and delivery of the system
  • Ensure successful completion of each development phase deliverables (may author, review, approve)
  • Problem solve the technical issues in a cross functional environment
  • Be involved in the design and integration of the system
  • Review the design and documentation of all the aspects related to this system
  • Check for quality of the Supplier's analyses
  • Validate and verify system requirements as well as system performance through design reviews, analyses, rig and aircraft testing
  • Define, prepare and execute qualification and certification tests
  • Work with supplier in the investigation and resolution of test findings
  • Prepare or review qualification or certification reports
  • Liaise with stress, loads, reliability, maintainability and safety (RM&S), simulation, customer and operations support departments
  • Identify issues and obstacles, follow-up and communicate progress
  • Prepare reports or presentations

     

    Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as on-site support to the Final Assembly Line (Toronto & Montreal), Completion Centers (Montreal), Flight Test Center (Wichita).

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with relevant experience of minimum two (2) years of experience.
  • You shall possess a good understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have some knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, avionics).
  • You have a basic knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
  • You have a good knowledge of mechanical design.
    • Knowledge of Flight Controls actuation devices is an asset.
  • You have good oral and technical writing skills in English (required)
  • You are motivated, self-starter, organized, autonomous and able to work under limited supervision.
  • You are a team player and able to work with suppliers and customers.
  • You are a dynamic person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment.
