Are you a formally trained Industrial Designer with a passion for aviation or transportation design? Do you have strong conceptualization skills and are able to articulate your vision using 2D and 3D design tools? Are you a creative problem solver with hands-on experience in prototyping? Are equally comfortable with refined sketching and form giving as you are with mock-up construction and testing?
We are looking for a creative and passionate Industrial Designer to join our Industrial Design & Cabin Innovation team. A team that won the following cabin design awards:

You must be energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic and a true team player. We want you to bring your positivity, passion, creativity and resilience to our team.
• Be involved in the complete design and development process
• Conduct in-depth research that will inform innovative and varied concept generation, ranging from cabin floorplans to detailed design
• Communicate concepts with compelling 2D sketches
• Translate 2D sketch and concepts into 3D CAD models (Rhinoceros and Alias are the primary tools)
• Render 3D models into compelling photo realistic images to support presentations to the leadership team (V-Ray and Keyshot are the primary tools)
• Combine technical requirements and form-giving in collaboration with other teams: engineering, marketing, and interior design
• Mock-up and prototype to various scales in variety of materials and technologies
• Support the interior design team in the development of materials, and finishes throughout the aircraft cabin
• Investigate innovative manufacturing processes, materials, finishes, cabin hardware and accessories
• Collaborate in the testing and prototyping of these materials and processes
• Present concepts to senior management and other stakeholders
How to thrive in this role?
• You possess a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, or equivalent experience
• You have a minimum of five (5) years design experience (Transportation Design is an asset)
• You have a high-level expertise in 3D surface modelling (Rhinoceros and/or Alias) (critical)
• You have strong abilities in 3D rendering and lighting in V-Ray and/or Keyshot
• You have good Knowledge of the ADOBE suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• You have knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia V5, 3dsMax software
• You are bilingual, oral and written (French and English)
• You are motivated by challenges and have a drive for results, bringing a strong technical aptitude, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and a good overall problem-solving approach
• You are flexible and creative in removing roadblocks and looking for creative ways to overcome challenges, and can maintain a strong design vision through long-term projects
• You have strong communications skills and can effectively communicate concepts and designs in a presentation environment
• You have a portfolio that demonstrates your full design skillset: sketch, illustration, color and graphic design, presentation sensitivity, CAD modelling and rendering
