What are your contributions to the team?
- Provide legal support to the company’s internal teams, including the sales, contracts (aircraft transactions), marketing, communications, and flight operations teams.
- Draft and assist in negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing agreements, marketing agreements, pilot services agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
- Conduct legal research in multiple related fields, including commercial law, contract law, private international law, and privacy law, and communicate findings to the legal team in writing or through oral presentations.
- Support the due diligence process for clients from around the world in compliance with rules aimed at preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Gain insight into the role of in‑house counsel within a large publicly traded global company.
- Collaborate with a team of highly qualified professionals in both business and law with the goal of achieving the best outcomes for a leading Canadian company.
How to thrive in this role?
- You are enrolled in a university program leading to a law degree.
- You are a Canadian citizen or have the required immigration status/permit to work full‑time at Bombardier.
- You have strong business acumen and an interest in commercial law.
- You are enthusiastic about working with skilled and motivated lawyers in a fast‑paced environment typical of a large international company operating in a cutting‑edge industry.
- You are bilingual (English and French) and have strong English writing skills.
- You have experience reviewing, drafting, or analyzing contracts.
- You have experience in legal research and in drafting clear and concise legal memoranda.
- You can work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You are comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams, which may include lawyers, engineers, sales personnel, and marketing or strategy analysts.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry and availability for an internship extension are assets, but not requirements.
