What are your contributions to the team?
Report on event outcomes, strategic engagement opportunities, and key takeaways.
Maintain Outlook calendars, invitee lists, and RSVP tracking for events and stakeholder visits.
Coordinate briefing materials and logistics for site tours and delegations.
Update stakeholder maps and engagement history in collaboration with the broader team.
Use Asana to manage and track engagement, policy files, and events.
Track policy files through the legislative process and report on relevant updates.
Monitor relevant government committee proceedings, providing timely and concise summaries to internal stakeholders.
Develop one to two medium or long-term policy-oriented research projects, selected from a range of policy priorities and emerging issues.
During your internship, you will learn:
Gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement and event coordination.
Understand the intersection of industry priorities and public affairs strategy.
Learn to manage multiple platforms (Asana, Outlook, SharePoint) in a corporate setting.
Gain thorough knowledge of the legislative activities and public policy developments across Ontario, Quebec, the federal government and key foreign jurisdictions.
Develop your written and oral communication skills.
Participate in thoughtful and engaging files and discussions.
Learn to be proactive and manage priorities and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
How to thrive in this role?
Reside in the Greater Toronto Area, with the ability to commute to the Bombardier Aircraft Assembly Centre (near the Toronto Pearson International Airport) a few days per week.
Enrolled in a university program in political science, public administration, international relations, communications, or a related field.
Strong understanding of the Canadian political system and public policy landscape.
Monitor Canadian and international news media for developments in government, public policy, industry, and issues relevant to company priorities.
Experience in research, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
Familiarity with tools like Power BI, SharePoint, Outlook, and Asana is a plus.
Experience with social media (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) monitoring is an asset.
Work in-office and remotely, as required.
Demonstrate sound professional judgement, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information and representing the company in both professional and public settings, including on social media.
