Our Team

The Governance and Engineering Skills Management (GESM) team is an innovative team with the following mission: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan that ensures the Engineering, Program Management Office (PMO) & Defense organization has the industry’s best talent that will allow it to meet its objectives.

What are your contributions to the team?

    • Support project managers in all their initiatives and help them address requests from senior management.
    • Take on the role of handling communications from our team to the rest of the engineering organization by preparing texts with key messages, producing newsletters, and improving the user interface of our SharePoint site.
    • Implement essential tools for project management and the long-term maintenance of initiatives, including VBA programming, Power BI, and SharePoint page development.
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of engineering training programs and workshops.
    • Coordinate high-visibility projects within the engineering organization.

    During your internship, you will learn to:

    • Develop project management skills in support of engineering
    • Develop communication and change management skills within a large engineering organization with multiple specialties
    • Develop applications/software (SharePoint, Power BI, VBA)
    • Participate in project follow-up and continuous improvement meetings

How to thrive in this role?

  • Currently be a student working toward a bachelor’s degree in administration or engineering.
  • Be autonomous and proactive.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, VBA programming, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Be able to express ideas clearly and precisely.Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate creativity in developing methodologies that ensure a high level of quality in deliverables.
  • Have relevant experience in project management (an asset).Have a desire to help others in their professional development within an organization.

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
