What are your contributions to the team?
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the enterprise data and document governance framework, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the Enterprise Data Governance Board, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and decision-making on data and records of governance matters.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of data governance professionals, document management specialists and literacy program leads.
- Set clear objectives, provide coaching and development, and foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.
- Oversee the definition, approval, and enforcement of data and document standards, quality metrics and compliance controls.
- Monitor and report on compliance with data governance and document management policies across all business units, escalating issues as needed.
- Ensure organizational compliance with internal policies related to data privacy, protection, and retention.
- Collaborate with Legal, IT Security, and Data Privacy teams to manage risks and respond to audits or incidents.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of critical data and record assets, ensuring proper classification, access controls, and lifecycle management.
- Design, launch, and lead the enterprise Data and AI Literacy programs, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and responsible AI adoption.
- Partner with HR, Learning & Development (L&D), IT Change Management and business leaders to deliver training, resources, and community-building initiatives that raise data and AI literacy at all levels.
- Measure and report on literacy program effectiveness, adjusting strategies to maximize engagement and impact.
- Act as a visible champion for data governance and document management, communicating the value and importance of trusted data and information throughout the organization.
- Lead change management efforts to embed data governance principles and practices into business processes and decision-making.
- Build and nurture a community of practice for data stewards and document management champions.
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand needs, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Library Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- You have 8+ years of experience in data governance, records management, or information management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or CoE management role.
- You have a deep knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), document management best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- You have proven experience and autonomy in leading enterprise data governance boards and implementing governance at scale.
- You have a strong ability to develop relationships across all business areas and to execute mandates with influential leadership.
- You have demonstrated success in designing and delivering data and AI literacy or upskilling programs.
- You have a strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master/reference data, and information lifecycle management.
- You are familiar with data governance and document management tools.
- You are skilled in creating impactful presentations with PowerPoint.
- You possess excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change-leadership skills.
- You demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English within a professional setting.
- Certifications such as CDMP (DAMA), PMP, or Information Governance Professional (IGP) are considered assets.
