What are your contributions to the team?

  • Lead and develop a team of Program Managers responsible for new avionics development programs and avionics changes across sustaining aircraft platforms.
  • Establish priorities, provide coaching, and support the professional development of team members while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive the successful planning, execution, and delivery of avionics projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Manage a portfolio of avionics Product Change Requests (PCRs), modifications, upgrades, and customer-driven initiatives across multiple aircraft programs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Certification, Flight Operations, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance to achieve program objectives.
  • Review and support business case development, project prioritization, and investment decisions for avionics initiatives.
  • Identify program risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities, and lead mitigation and recovery plans with stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical program concerns and provide leadership visibility on project performance, key milestones, and emerging risks.
  • Ensure effective governance, reporting, and program reviews with management and executive leadership.
  • Support resolution of complex technical, operational, and customer-related issues impacting avionics projects and aircraft in service.
  • Monitor program costs, resource requirements, and overall portfolio performance to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management tools, processes, metrics, and best practices.
  • Promote a customer-focused mindset while balancing technical, operational, regulatory, and business requirements

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in aerospace, avionics, engineering, project management, or program management, including leadership responsibilities.
  • You possess strong knowledge of aircraft systems, with a solid understanding of avionics architecture, integration, certification, and lifecycle management.
  • You have demonstrated experience managing complex projects or portfolios in a cross-functional environment.
  • You have strong project management, planning, risk management, and portfolio governance skills.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications and demonstrate strong analytical and data management capabilities.
  • You possess excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • You are customer-focused, results-oriented, and capable of effectively balancing competing priorities.
  • You have strong problem-solving, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • You demonstrate sound business acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • You are highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials would be considered an asset.
  • The position operates under a hybrid work model, with candidates ideally located in the Toronto or Montreal area.
