Role overview

As Manager, Organizational Learning, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the learning strategy that supports manufacturing operations across the Montreal region. You will ensure that workforce development programs meet current and future operational needs while promoting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and workforce capability development. 

 

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, as well as a network of external partners and suppliers. You will ensure alignment between learning initiatives and the business priorities of the Montreal site and other manufacturing locations while actively contributing to the evolution of organizational capabilities. 

 

You will join the Organizational Learning team and report directly to the Director of Organizational Learning. 

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Define and deploy the technical learning strategy to support the organization’s operational and growth objectives; 
  • Lead and develop a team of learning professionals by fostering engagement, performance, and talent development; 
  • Ensure governance of training programs, including their design, deployment, and continuous improvement; 
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Directors to identify skills development needs and support performance and transformation initiatives; 
  • Participate in performance and quality reviews across manufacturing sites in the Montreal region; 
  • Measure the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives using relevant performance indicators; 
  • Oversee the management of the Dorval and Saint-Laurent Training Centers, including resource, infrastructure, and investment planning; 
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and ensure the quality of services and deliverables; 
  • Lead critical workforce capability development initiatives aligned with business priorities, compliance requirements, and the evolution of technical trades; 
  • Ensure sound budget management and optimization of resources under your responsibility. 

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a bachelor degree in Business Administration, Aeronautics, Operations Management, or a related field; 
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in learning and development, technical training, workforce development, manufacturing operations, or a related field, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or people management role (managing or supervising teams).
  • You possess a strong understanding of manufacturing or aerospace operations, as well as quality systems; 
  • You demonstrate strong leadership, team engagement, and change management capabilities; 
  • You are recognized for your ability to build partnerships and positively influence stakeholders; 
  • You have excellent communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written; 
  • You are proficient with the Microsoft 365 suite; 
  • You are customer-focused and demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and excellent priority management skills; 
  • You possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities; 
  • You have the ability to work on-site and travel between the various manufacturing sites in the Montreal region.
