What are your contributions to the team?
- Support new product development projects by coordinating methods activities, manufacturing readiness tasks, and technical deliverables for machined parts from concept through implementation.
- Participate in the review, investigation, and resolution of technical challenges during product development, while identifying opportunities to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
- Revise and/or create manufacturing documentation, and change requests required to support new designs, prototypes, development builds, and product configuration updates.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to cross-functional project teams, supporting design reviews, development milestones, risk mitigation, and the integration of Lean manufacturing principles into new product introduction.
- Ensure clear ownership, action plans, and schedule alignment for development issues, project risks, and open technical items; maintain visibility through project tracking tools and visual management updates.
- Investigate issues related to methods and engineering documentation for new designs, development builds, and configuration changes; initiate appropriate corrective actions to support project milestones.
- Initiate/lead unresolved technical, documentation, or manufacturing readiness concerns to project leaders to ensure timely decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Maintain methods documentation, development records, and project databases to ensure accurate traceability of new product introduction activities.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- You have min five (5) years of experience as a Manufacturing Technologist or equivalent experience.
- You have relevant experience supporting new product development, new product introduction, prototype builds, or manufacturing readiness activities.
- You are comfortable reading technical drawings and have good 3D visualization and a good analytical mind.
- You have the confidence and ability to support development builds, assess manufacturability, and troubleshoot technical issues during new product introduction.
- You have a good knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques.
- You have leadership skills and support the importance of customer satisfaction.
- You are a team player, organized, autonomous, resourceful, imaginative, and you are persistent.
- You enjoy working in a team and have excellent communication skills.
- You are proficient with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP software and knowledge of Catia V5 is an asset.
