What are your contributions to the team?
The Operations Planner plays a key role in master production schedule planning at the Challenger plant. This position is central to aligning capacity, resources, and manufacturing strategies in a dynamic and challenging environment.
As an Operations Planner, you will be responsible for:
- Developing short- and medium-term capacity plans, including workforce and plant space requirements;
- Communicating sector-specific plans and any associated changes to stakeholders;
- Monitoring and measuring adherence to operational plans (cycle times and hours of delay);
- Creating, maintaining, and aligning the production master schedule;
- Preparing planning scenarios to support manufacturing strategies and providing:
- Visibility into workforce impacts;
- Visibility into plant space impacts;
- Associated risks for each scenario;
- A clear recommendation of the preferred scenario;
- Acting as the key link between planners, the Master Plan, and production teams;
- Collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams, including Production, Internal and Supply Logistics, Methods, Industrial Engineering, and Quality;
- Operating effectively within a unionized environment;
- Supporting and participating in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations and Logistics Management, or equivalent experience;
- You have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in production planning;
- You have strong organizational and time management skills and are able to work autonomously;
- You are able to work methodically with minimal supervision;
- You possess strong skills in analysis, planning, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication;
- You demonstrate solid communication skills, are results-driven, and have a strong team spirit;
- You are highly proficient in the use of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project);
- You have knowledge of the SAP-APO ERP system;
- You demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and are fluent in both French and English.
