What are your contributions to the team?
- Develop the aircraft-level architecture of Navigation and Sensing Systems, and associated aircraft-level requirements, to best address market expectations and program management needs.
- Lead aircraft-level system trade-offs, resulting in the definition of the product configuration and architecture.
- Develop and maintain aircraft-level requirements with the support of various disciplines.
- Be responsible for aircraft-level interface requirements and their definition (functional, logical, and physical).
- Lead aircraft-level validation and verification activities, from definition through execution, including associated documentation.
- Lead cross-system integration activities, including aircraft integration activities.
- Be responsible for Validation and Verification summaries and provide technical oversight of verification and validation reports from various disciplines to ensure aircraft-level completeness.
- Support aircraft-level certification and safety activities within the assigned scope of responsibility, including the generation and review of associated artifacts.
- Provide technical coordination of the aircraft-level change management process (cross-functional issues) and associated build plan, including V&V regression activities.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Formal training in Systems Engineering is an asset.
- You have at least 8 years of relevant experience in aircraft or complex systems development and certification, including systems engineering, conceptual design, architecture development, and requirements-based verification.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in functional, logical, and physical architecture development, as well as the integration of avionics, navigation, and aircraft sensing systems such as inertial reference systems and radio altimeters, including aircraft-level requirements validation and verification.
- You have strong knowledge of complex systems development methodologies and aerospace development assurance standards, such as ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178, and DO-254. Familiarity with DO-160, DO-297, human factors, or flight crew interface certification considerations is an asset.
- You ideally have exposure to new or emerging technologies in navigation and sensing systems, particularly where these technologies impact certification, integration, or development assurance activities.
- You have practical experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices and tools.
- You are skilled at bringing disciplines together, clarifying responsibilities, structuring complex problems, and ensuring that aircraft-level decisions are properly documented, justified, verified, and certifiable.
- You are open-minded, curious, rigorous, and methodical.
- You promote collaborative and cohesive teamwork and support knowledge sharing among team members.
- You possess strong analytical and systems thinking skills to structure complex problems and maintain alignment across disciplines.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- You communicate technical concepts, project status, and risks clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
