Technical Expert Sr, Engineering – Pneumatics

You will be part of the Product Development Engineering, team where it all starts for Bombardier as it sets the stage to take full advantage of its investments and the tremendous growth potential of its new products. The organization is responsible for bringing new aircraft programs to their successful entry-into-service.

 

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Work in collaboration with the Pneumatics Fellow to develop and execute a vision for the Pneumatics Knowledge Domain (Pneumatics Transformation, Knowledge Capture, Knowledge & Process Gap Closure, Technology Review, Knowledge Sharing, etc)
  • Lead the Pneumatics Transformation detailed activities
  • Provide Technical Leadership and mentoring in all the field of Pneumatics (for example, ensure adequate Company-wide knowledge and DAD coverage in particular in the field of Oxygen)
  • Provide technical leadership, in all areas of Pneumatics, to:
    • Resolve emerging issues
    • Lead or ensure multi-disciplinary systems integration aspects in product development in support of the best design and cost effective approach at aircraft level
    • Support the definition of New Aircraft Development Projects and define improvement opportunities for Sustaining Programs
    • Stay abreast with new technology and identify solutions improving cost, performance and/or market capture
    • Provide new or improved cost effective process solution
  • Provide Technical expertise to the Engineering teams, including Sustaining Programs, Development Programs, Strategic Technology and Advanced Design.
  • Provide direction about Industry trends and identify company needs within the discipline
  • Identify, develop and execute development opportunities for discipline members
  • Identify opportunities for new cost-effective design solution  

How to thrive in this role?

  • You possess a Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering
  • You have more than 18 years of engineering experience in the field of Aerospace Pneumatic Systems.
  • You demonstrate good working knowledge of FAA, EASA, TCCA certification requirements (regulatory Authority delegation is an asset).
  • You are recognized within the industry for your expertise in Pneumatics, including Oxygen
  • You have proven leadership and influencing skills, work collaboratively in a team environment (internal and with Suppliers) and possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • You possess good written and oral communication skills in English. (Knowledge of French is an asset)
  • You are available to travel on short term assignments as required;
  • You are proficient with most-used office programs, e.g. MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
