What are your contributions to the team?
As an Advanced Supplier Management Agent, you will drive performance and resilience across Bombardier’s supplier base, partnering with cross functional stakeholders in Supply Chain, Quality, Methods, Engineering, Programs and Operations to ensure on time, on quality, and on cost delivery.
In your role, you will:
Lead supplier capacity & capability assessments
• Plan assessments: prepare timelines, finalize logistics, initiate kickoff/data requests, manage team resources, and outline expectations.
• Conduct capacity assessments: assess overall plant capacity to manufacture required items within specified timelines; verify workstation level capacity before consolidating overall capacity.
• Conduct capability assessments onsite: lead teams to evaluate processes, governance, and performance.
Evaluate supplier planning & management processes
• Demand planning: review forecasting variables, methods, frequency, systems/tools, and communication practices.
• Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): evaluate governance, planning horizons, stakeholder involvement, budgeting, and tools.
• Production & inventory planning: assess parameters, systems, inventory levels, and cross functional coordination.
• Procurement planning (P2P): evaluate workflows, processes, and systems/tools used.
• Tier II/III supplier management: review systems, tools, and processes used to manage and evaluate lower tier suppliers.
Assess supplier manufacturing, systems & people
• Manufacturing process: evaluate throughput, bottlenecks, asset utilization, productivity, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Systems: assess production scheduling, automation, deviation management, and continuous improvement systems.
• People: evaluate workforce competency, staffing, and skills alignment with demand.
Drive supplier performance management & quality
• Establish KPIs, run weekly/monthly reviews, and deploy corrective action plans to close delivery, quality, and responsiveness gaps; provide executive level visibility and briefings.
• Execute supplier audits and source inspections for systems/components;
• Lead root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Why, Ishikawa) and verify effectiveness through recurring metrics and action logs.
Enable suppliers planning maturity & analytics
• Coach suppliers to strengthen forecasting, MPS/MRP parameters and inventory policies; facilitate S&OP cadence to stabilize flow to Bombardier lines.
• Leverage SAP (planning/work packs/materials) and analytics (e.g., Power BI, Lean DNA) to monitor performance, enable transparency, and trigger early interventions.
Technical compliance & stakeholder partnership
• Read and interpret technical drawings and aerospace documentation (MMs, SBs, ADs, EO/DER) to align supplier manufacturing processes with Bombardier requirements and ensure configuration control.
• Partner with Procurement & Contract Management to reinforce obligations, negotiate remedies, and enable cost reduction/VA VE opportunities across commodities.
Governance & continuous improvement
• Compile assessment outcomes, prepare management reports, finalize assessment scores, and communicate findings.
• Identify gaps and improvement opportunities across supplier supply chain processes and governance.
• Maintain a register of supplier risks and agreed improvement actions; follow up and track progress.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve recurring supplier issues and mitigate risks.
How to thrive in this role?
• Experience: 10+ years in supplier management/supply chain within aerospace or complex industrial manufacturing, including hands on supplier development, assessments, and performance improvement.
• SAP & planning systems: Proficiency with SAP and knowledge of ERP/MRP, sales forecasting and planning tools.
• Planning expertise: Solid knowledge of demand planning, S&OP governance, MPS/MRP, and inventory control; ability to coach suppliers on processes and cadence.
• Supplier audit & quality: Experience in source inspections, supplier audits, NCR/VNCR management, and corrective/preventive actions aligned with aerospace quality expectations.
• Root cause analysis: Proven use of structured RCA methods to eliminate recurrence and validate effectiveness.
• Technical literacy: Ability to read technical drawings and manufacturing routings; comfortable with aerospace maintenance and engineering documentation.
• Analytics & communication: Skilled at building concise, executive level updates; adept with KPI tools (e.g., Power BI, Lean DNA) and MS Office (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
• Relationship & negotiation: Strong relationship management, negotiation and collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to link assessment outcomes to business objectives.
• Languages: An ability to work in both French and English (written and spoken).
• Mobility: Up to 70% travel required for domestic/international assessments and audits.
• Education: Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). PMP/MBA is an asset.
