What are your contributions to the team?

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Systems Specialist to provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and evolution of our Wintel landscape. The Systems Specialist is responsible for the operational stability, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Wintel environment. This role supports critical services across environments, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and performance of Windows-based systems. with a strong focus on scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.

The role partners closely with Active Directory, Network Infrastructure, Cloud, and Automation teams and acts as a technical authority for Wintel Systems. the specialist will contribute to both day-to-day operational support and the delivery of infrastructure modernization initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security compliance.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 operational support for Windows-based infrastructure, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
  • Support server lifecycle management, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning of Windows systems
  • Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives, including migrations, platform upgrades, and cloud integration projects
  • Collaborate with cloud, network, and DevOps teams to integrate Windows workloads with hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Implement and maintain automation and configuration management practices to improve platform consistency and operational efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security standards, vulnerability remediation, and patch management policies
  • Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer for supported systems
  • Support project teams by providing Windows platform expertise during design, implementation, and deployment phases

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have 8+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in Wintel systems management and implementation.
  • You hold a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • You possess solid expertise in Wintel‑based environments, open‑source tooling, and virtualization/container platforms.
  • You have experience in Active Directory system integration.
  • You possess strong hands‑on experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD platforms).
  • You have functional knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • You possess a strong understanding of networking, security, and performance considerations in automated systems.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to lead through influence, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams.
  • You are fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.

Assets / Nice to Have:

  • Wintel system certification and related software tool certifications
  • Experience operating platforms in large, regulated, or safety-critical enterprises
  • Prior infrastructure experience as a Platform Lead, Principal Engineer, or Architecture-focused technical leader
