Technical Expert – Acoustics and Vibration Engineering

What are your contributions to the team?

Bombardier Aviation is seeking a seasoned and passionate Technical Expert to lead initiatives in Cabin Acoustics and Vibration Environment across multiple aircraft platforms. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional passenger comfort and driving technical excellence and innovation within our engineering teams.

 

In the Vibratory Environment Domain, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Act as the technical authority for all Bombardier Aviation platforms in production and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify needs and provide expert guidance.
  • Address knowledge gaps by proposing and implementing targeted development plans.
  • Share expertise and mentor colleagues to build critical capabilities across the organization.

 

In the Cabin Acoustics Domain, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Serve as the focal point for cabin acoustics on Challenger 3500 and Challenger 650 platforms.
  • Support engineering, production, liaison, sales, and marketing teams to ensure projects success.
  • Ensure cabin acoustic comfort meets Bombardier’s premium standards.
  • Influence design changes to optimize acoustic performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Define platform requirements, develop implementation strategies, and propose improvement projects.

 

Regarding Strategic & Technical Leadership, your contributions will be:

  • Contribute to Bombardier’s Acoustics and Vibrations Knowledge Domain and engineering systems.
  • Influence R&D directions in emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in internal technical reviews and act as a peer advisor.
  • Balance technical decisions with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Promote lessons learned and best practices across acoustics and related domains.

How to thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally complemented by a Master’s or Ph.D. in Acoustics.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant technical experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Deep expertise in acoustics and vibrations, including modeling, measurement techniques, and signal processing.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards for managing vibration environments in both civil and military aviation.
  • Deep understanding of Bombardier Engineering System and active participation in at least one aircraft development program.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions, take ownership, lead teams, coordinate activities, and inspire others toward project success.
  • Recognized for fostering a healthy work environment, upholding high standards of ethics and respect, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences, including directors and vice presidents.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify critical activities, prioritize long-term objectives, delegate effectively, and provide mentorship to team members.
  • Fluent in French and English.
