What are your contributions to the team?

 

  • Participate in the deployment of Dimensional Management (DM) process activities on new and/or sustaining aircraft programs.
  • Work closely with Design Integration and Manufacturing departments to define the aircraft's top-level dimensional requirements.
  • Participate in concept selection within the Integrated Product Development Team by performing stack-up analysis on different concepts for trade studies.
  • Propose, capture, and review Final Assembly Line (FAL) manufacturing processes.
  • Coach suppliers and stakeholders on the DM philosophy and its application within their organizations.
  • Establish work package datum/dimensional tolerance interface control for each structural work package.
  • Perform audits of suppliers and at FAL to ensure conformity with plans.
  • Identify top-level requirements that could be at risk and propose mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the cascade of top-level requirements into supplier’s product structures and at FAL.
  • Support the Entry In Service (EIS) phase by analyzing discrepancies and providing laser shoot support.
  • Provide support to sustaining groups related to DM by participating in problem-solving activities.

 

How to thrive in this role?

 

  • You hold a university degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.
  • You have more than 10 years of experience in aerospace with a proven track record of successful deployment of Dimensional Management within a product development environment.
  • You have experience in coaching and engaging suppliers to ensure successful deployment of the Dimensional Management plan.
  • You have good knowledge of green aircraft structures, major systems, and their integration at the aircraft level.
  • You have good knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • You are familiar with quality control processes and evaluation of discrepancies.
  • You have advanced knowledge of tolerancing using the ASME standard Y14.5.
  • You are familiar with stack-up calculation.
  • You have strong knowledge and experience with CATIA V5 and/or NX.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork.
  • You are autonomous, result-driven, rigorous, details oriented and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
  • You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of metrology software such as Spatial Analyser and/or PolyWorks is an asset.
