We are looking to recruit a new Material Controller based on our depot in East Ham, London, United Kingdom.

YOUR ROLE:

Collaborate to ensure supply and availability of goods and services required to perform train maintenance including corrective, preventative and overhaul activities.

YOUR TASKS:

- Create Purchase Requisitions to meet demand for requirements generated by materials requirements planning, liaise with Central Procurement team to ensure these are processed in a timely manner with delivery dates that support all maintenance and overhaul activities undertaken for the Exam Plan and Depot Asset Management Plan. Monitor the internal and external order book within SAP, ensuring all demands are valid, liaise with Central Procurement to ensure delivery dates are maintained and achieved, highlighting potential issues and expediting these as and when necessary.

- Support the forecasting of materials for the Exam Plan and Depot Asset Management Plan and work with the Depot Production Team and the centralised Material Solutions function, to ensure that all emerging material requirements for maintenance and overhaul are known and understood. Manage and maintain material Master Data within SAP to enable full functionality of MRP to be utilised, looking for continual improvement and automation of processes;

- Attend daily production and other materials related meetings to resolve and provide information on all active material issues and manage both internal and external suppliers to ensure required levels of service is maintained. Act as the primary interface and day to day point of contact with the key internal and external suppliers of materials

- Manage and maintain Tooling and Calibration Master Data enabling control and traceability in accordance with industry standards, looking for continual improvement and standardisation of processes

- Implement and maintain a perpetual inventory management plan, ensuring results are recorded, records maintained within SAP to ensure stock accuracy targets are achieved. Monitor stock levels in accordance with demand and maintain these to ensure inventory forecast targets are achieved;

Qualifications

- Degree or equivalent and preferably with a specialist qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply - CIPS), unless similar expertise has been achieved through considerable experience;

- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel;

- Proficiency in the management of materials and purchasing modules in computerized business tool (SAP mandatory; MAXIMO preferable);

- Proven experience and track record in a similar position will be a strong advantage;

- Strong communications skills and good commercial acumen;

- Effective communicator with internal functions and Supplier facing;

- Ability to act on initiative, identify opportunities & proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions;
