About the role:

As a Product Family Chief Engineer you will be responsible for the product strategy of our Train Control and Management System (TCMS) for a product family. In this role you will define the product strategy, carry out market researches, act as first interface for bid engineering, as well as provide product system requirements for architects and project chief engineers.

International teams, large international projects, varying challenging tasks, opportunity to develop


- Define a product strategy for the Train Control and Management System (TCMS) for the product family.
- Ensure that the product strategy fits to the coming project needs and allows a project execution in Q/T/C.
- Ensure that the global product strategy is correctly cascaded in the product family strategy. Align with the other product family chief engineers and with the global product management team. Cascade the product family strategy to project execution and ensure its application.
- Execute market researches.
- Be the interface to the Rolling Stock (ROS) and the Rolling Stock Equipment (RoQ) product family platforms. Align with ROS and RoQ chief engineers on upcoming product requirements and vehicle strategy.
- Align with the safety engineer on the safety requirements.
- Provide clear product system requirements to system architects and project chief engineers.
- Act as first interface to the bid engineering. Ensure highest possible reuse and fulfillment of customer, safety and norm requirements
- Ensure alignment with the project teams for standard way of working and process enhancements.
- Align with the standard software development team on the road map of the standard software.


- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in informatics, mathematics, engineering or comparable

- Minimum 10-15 years of post-graduate business experience

- High level expertise within your technical competency area

- Deep knowledge of computer systems. Knowledge of train control and management systems is helpful.

- Experience with safety related systems (software and hardware) and knowledge of the relevant norms

- Good communication skills

- Work independently and solve complex problems

- Very good English skills are a must
