PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Sales Manager – Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) is the key contact for private rolling stock operators and vehicle owners in the region regarding maintenance contracts by Bombardier Transportation. The person in this role is part of the regional Service Sales Team and works in close cooperation with the Projects Teams of the Service Line Fleet Management and Product Introduction, as well as support functions such as Contracts, Finance, Engineering and the Sales Team in Mainline and Metros newbuild department.

• Market and competitor analysis

The Sales Manager builds and maintains relationships on all levels of the customer´s organization (Board of Directors, Procurement, Operations, vehicle owners and operators etc.).
He/She knows the strategic direction and operational challenges in his/her account portfolio and identifies on an early moment the opportunities in his/her market.
He/She is able to manage complex selling in both public and private tendering processes, in combination or not with the sale of rolling stock.
He/She is active in creating demand for Fleet Management offerings and compiling them into attractive customer offers.
He/She identifies the opportunities, prepares the “White Book” and in cooperation with the Bid team - the customer mandate (“Blue Book”).
In the framework of the mandate, the Sales Manager defines the customer development plans, the capture plans, stakeholder analysis and leads the customer negotiations, backed by the Bid, Service Line FMS and support functions.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent through experience, complemented by a demonstrated track record of success;
• Previous experience in a relevant role, ideally in transportation industry (railway, automotive, aerospace etc.) or a similar industrial/engineering industry;
• It is required senior experience in business development, sales, bids/tenders. Also, would be valuable the experience on a marketing, project management or engineering role working for a heavy manufacturing organization;
• International experience would be an asset, as well as complex selling in maintenance contracts for industrial assets;
• The following skills and competencies are desired:
- Solid proficiency level in business intelligence, strategic sales skills, contractual and legal knowledge, negotiation skills and planning skills;
- Strong evidence of customer led behaviour and relationship building skills. Demonstrated understanding of the challenge of the market. Knowledge of the competitive position;
- Stakeholder management. Impacting and influencing of the stakeholders;
- Public bidding & private bidding process;
• Language skills: English and German at advanced/business fluent level is mandatory.
