As a Software Tester, you will be responsible to apply the principles of software testing in a safety critical environment. This includes the design/planning, development/implementation, as well as maintenance and execution of script based automatic and manual tests on simulated and real environment, to verify the fulfilment of the stakeholder requirements.

In the scope of the role, you will perform software test design assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness and design experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own the test plan, develop test specifications, test protocol, report and test metrics;

• Ensure that the test activities are planned and implemented and the specified tests are carried out. Set-up and implement the test environment;

• Creation of test specifications for vehicle software systems;

• Record test execution and results (test protocol) and deviations and communicate deviations with relevant change management body for evaluation and decision;

• Influence the planning of testing activities and requirements specifications for, but not limited to, testability;

• Carry out testing to ascertain its behaviour and performance compared to the corresponding requirements specification;

• Ensures that the behavior and performance of the software corresponds with requirements of the design project;

• Preparation and execution of railway technical inspections of components, systems as well as complete rail vehicles at own premises and abroad;

• Review of system specifications;

• Implementation and documentation of the vehicle software tests;

• Analysis and documentation of errors;

• Support the software development team in troubleshooting;

• Compliance with legal regulations and regulations, including occupational safety and accident prevention.


Key requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering;

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience;

• Knowledge of C# programming language, deep understanding of technical systems;

• Good knowledge of testing techniques, methods and continuous improvement ;

• Good knowledge in test methods, standards and norms applicable in the railway area;

• Testing experience in Real-Time control systems, Embedded Systems;

• Good communication skills, team-player;

• Fluency in English and German.
