What are your contributions to the team?

In your role, within the Advanced Engineering group at Bombardier, you will:

  • Work in a modern software development environment leveraging Git, Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Artifacts), and GitHub Copilot.
  • Develop and optimize aircraft structural analysis tools.
  • Support the development of automatic finite element meshing tools.
  • Contribute to solving software development challenges and propose solutions to support the continuous improvement of Bombardier’s structural analysis software and engineering tools.
  • Develop and extend graphical user interfaces for existing tools to improve usability and user experience.

How to thrive in this role?

As our ideal candidate,

  • You are enrolled in a Computer Science or an Engineering program (software, mechanical, or  aerospace).
  • You are familiar with Python software development.
  • Experience with the development of graphical user interfaces (GUI) and Qt is a plus.
  • Experience with C++, C#, or VB.Net and Visual Studio suite is a plus.
  • You have experience with software application testing and debugging
  • You are knowledgeable of object-oriented programming methods.
  • You are autonomous, result-driven and enthusiastic with strong work ethic.
  • You are available for an extension or a longer internship (8 months)

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
