We are currently looking to recruit a supply chain, operational manager with a technical background. The position is primarily based in Kassel, with regular customer and supplier meetings you can organize independently.

YOUR ROLE

The position holder will lead the Spares Operations team to ensure its efficient operation as it manages a sales volume of approx. €1-15m for parts solutions and material handling.

You will have responsibility for ensuring spare parts delivery for three main business Streams; Product Introduction, Fleet Maintenance and Spare Parts Business. The main objective is to ensure that internal and external customers/operators receive spare parts across Europe in time and in quality, according to contractual obligations. With that comes the ambition to reach service excellence for the Product segment Locomotives.

You will also have responsibility for identifying areas to improve operational performance, reduce the number of transactions by the introduction of new technologies and develop Business with internal & external customers/operators

Your Tasks

- Monitoring & improvement of operational performance

- Provide leadership to team members within the operations team, developing their engagement to effectively drive its optimisation and running.

- Drive the team forward to reduce the overall numbers of transactions through the identification & introduction of new technologies

- Ensure the team provides the highest level of service to internal & external customers

- Continue to drive the sales performance by reviewing offerings to customers & suppliers

Qualifications

You will have a background in materials management & supplier management and have held an equivalent position in the rail, automotive or aerospace industries. Ideally you have a technical background with a commercial experience. You will be a fluent German & English speaker with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and possess the drive and determination to provide strong leadership to a complex & diverse team of professionals.
