What are your contributions to the team?
Be responsible for specific development programs to ensure readiness of the supply chain and work in close collaboration with the strategic Procurement teams, Programs and Engineering.
You will act as the subject matter expert with regards to new programs within Procurement and act as the link between the product development teams, the business units and the suppliers. Specifically, you will:
- Be responsible for a team of procurement agents
- Be responsible for all procurement-related activities for specific commodities of the various product development phases
- Act as a project manager to ensure all procurement related activities are executed as per plan
- Represent Procurement within the various integrated product development teams
- Track changes through the management process up to the point of implementation
- Be responsible for contractual negotiations, resulting from product changes, with external suppliers
- Ensure that correct project tracking and visibility are provided by the suppliers for Procurement and other business unit functions
- Support, where applicable, the Procurement commodity teams in establishing sourcing strategies for the development programs and draft commercial agreements with the suppliers
- Plan, track, analyze and monitor the Balanced Scorecard and Key Performance Indicators of the team
- Coach & support staff in all aspects of their activities, provide direction and promote engagement
- Develop and maintain a healthy relationship with suppliers and internal customers to meet business objectives
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering. Further higher education is an asset, e.g. MBA or master’s degree in engineering
- You have at least ten (10) years of experience in the aerospace industry; fifteen (15) years or more is an asset
- You have a proven track record of coordinating and managing a team successfully; you have a minimum of two (2) years of previous experience as a direct supervisor (asset)
- You demonstrate proficiency across the Bombardier leadership competencies (providing direction, leading change, engendering confidence and trust, driving for results and performance, and building effective teams)
- You have demonstrated experience in negotiations with suppliers
- You can demonstrate technical knowledge of the aircraft
- You have gained direct experience working on development programs or in Program Management (asset)
- You demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- You are highly capable of communicating to influence, and can work in both English and French on a daily basis
- You can work primarily on-site on a regular basis at one of our Montreal locations
- You can travel for work up to 25% of the year, both nationally and internationally, as required
